David W. Worthington ’66
(August 27, 1941 – February 1, 2024)
A leader in the petroleum and geophysics industries, David Worthington ’66 was also a committed philanthropist, focusing on making education more accessible by establishing scholarships. He also enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the energy industry by serving on various boards. In addition to being a member of the Marietta College Board of Trustees from 1998 to 2003, David, along with his wife, Beverly, made a tremendous impact on education at Marietta College by establishing the Worthington Center for Teaching Excellence during the construction of the Legacy Library in 2009, as well as establishing scholarships. Sadly, David passed away on February 1, 2024, in Naples, Florida.
