Dr. Hans Georg Gilde, an Emeritus Professor of Chemistry, passed away on February 24, 2023. He was 89 years old. He is survived by his wife, Helen Schooner Gilde, who he married in 1957, and daughters, Emily Gilde ’80 and Ellen Gilde Schwendeman ’83, and son-in-law James P. Schwendeman ’82.

Dean Haine ’62 had a strong bond with his Alpha Sigma Phi brothers. The group was one of the driving forces that led to the fraternity’s rechartering on campus, and in 2008, they organized the Sig Bust, which is celebrated every Homecoming weekend. Sadly, Dean passed away on March 1, 2023.
